Minnie Pearl

Minnie Pearl
Minnie is an abused rescue that has recovered completely, and as you can see, is very happy in her new home. She's also a natural greeter at Greyhound "Meet and Greet" adoption events, fully living up to her new name --"Hooowwwdeee!" She loves to be loved.

Roxy

Roxy
Roxy has recently passed away at the age of 14 years. She was fit and active to the end just like her old friend Timmy. Roxy was an ex-racing greyhound and was with me for 9 years. She and Timmy made a great pair of brindle Greyhounds and went everywhere together. After Timmy died, Roxy followed in his footsteps just two months later.I miss them both so much.

Sam
I have decided to enter Sam under Greyhound as he will hopefully appear below his deceased friend 'Timmy' whose photo I incorrectly titled Sam! Sam is actually a Lurcher but mostly Greyhound blood. He has the speed of a Greyhound and the agility and stamina of a Border Collie. He is very clever and has taken over the role as 'crow chaser' from Timmy!

Timmy was 16 years old when this photo was taken. He was just two months away from his 17th birthday and remained fit and active to the end. He was one of my many ex-racing greyhounds that I have homed over the past thirty years and was with me for 9 of those years. I miss him terribly. He used to love to chase the crows and has taught my young lurcher to follow in his footsteps!

Lola

Lola
We adopted Lola from a racetrack adoption agency. She had been given away by her previous owner and had been found running the streets. We immediately fell in love with her. Our hearts were broken when a vet visit revealed she was heartworm positive and in bad shape. That didn't matter to us: we wanted to love her for as long as she had left. Six months, two vets and alot of prayer later, she was totally heartworm free. She is healthy, happy and sassy and loves her family. She has been in our lives and hearts almost 2 years now.

True is shown here in the beautiful badlands of Drumheller Alberta, Canada. Her passion in life has always been Lurecoursing feild trials where she obtained her exellence running title and placed in the top 10 running greyhounds for 3 years in a row during her competition. She has also worked in her spare time as a therepy dog through the PALS program bringing smiles to the young and old visiting nursing homes, volunteering to raise money and awareness for PALS at information booths or attending the annual Calgary Santa Claus Parade wearing her Santa Suit. But most importantly... she is my beloved pet, whom I adore each and every day!

Pictured here is True doing what greyhounds do best.... RUN. Because greyhounds can run in excess of 30 mph it is IMPERATIVE that they are only allowed to run loose in safe locations that are both free of holes, derbis, flat and fenced. Greyhounds are very docile, sensitive natured, gentle animals who surprisingly require less exercise than other high energy breed types because they are sprinters(like the
cheetah). They run like crazy for a few minutes then run out of energy and slowww right down.
